About me

I am a scientific consultant with experience both in academic and applied research. My fields of expertise are neuroscience, psychology and the social sciences with a special focus on empirical methodology and statistics.

My scientific journey began at the University of Heidelberg where I got my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I then moved to the field of neuroscience and obtained my Master’s in Neural- and Behavioural Sciences from the International Max-Planck Research School at the University of Tübingen. I received my PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Birmingham in 2016. The following years I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Magdeburg. Afterwards I moved to neuroconsulting, working at the Neuroscience Institute of the Big 4 Consulting Firm Deloitte and at a dedicated neuro-consulting business in Beijing called Brain-Intelligence Neuro-Consultancy, where I was helping my clients conduct empirical studies that give them insights into the perception of their brand, products and services. As a freelance consultant I support academics and students of all levels with choosing appropriate study designs, methods tutoring, data analysis and write up of their research.

My varied academic and consulting background in different scientific fields and industries has given me a wide range of interdisciplinary insights. My expertise lies in empirical study design and analysis for psychological research, market research, the social sciences and cognitive neuroscience. I can help you with statistical analysis in SPSS or R (incl. Jamovi & Jasp), psychophysics in Matlab and analysis of EEG data using Matlab or Python. I am also familiar with building machine learning models particularly for EEG data.
